ANOTHER AGE
The monster's left the island
The house is graveyard silent
They're sifting through debris now
To find what's left of me now
Closing, disposing, lachrymosing
The hands are always shifting
The bomb was always ticking
And pride is still your dancer
Suppose there was no answer
Missin', reminiscin', intermission...
Out on the corner, a sauna, Danny's got the fever
Hormones and sage, little Laura's come of age
Red wine, first time, bodies entwine, then he leaves her
Lost in her dream Sherry is singin' “keep me warm tonight”.
Danny hears her tune, she knows he's coming soon
Two beds, two lives, clouds in her eyes when he leaves her
Laura hangs on, Sherry sings her song, nothing can go wrong
Danny plays the role, he's always in control
Can't shun the monster, perhaps you don't want to, anyway
The monster met an angel
So gentle and so playful
And while his heart was quaking
Another heart was breaking
Intrusion, confusion, resolution.
Now I'm dancing with an angel.
